研究揭示中尺度涡垂向结构对能量耗散与生命周期的影响

中尺度涡旋是海洋中广泛存在的海水旋转运动，其水平尺度通常为几十至数百千米，生命周期可达数十至数百天，承载着海洋中大部分动能，在海洋水团、热盐输运以及海洋生态环境调节中发挥着重要作用。卫星观测表明，东南印度洋是全球中尺度涡活动较为活跃的区域之一，不同区域涡旋的振幅、生命周期等表层特征存在差异。目前，该区域涡旋在海表以下的三维结构、垂向结构的空间差异规律，以及不同涡旋生命周期分化的内在机制尚不明晰。
