A New Generation of Pharmacists Begin Their Journey

The donning of the white coat has long been a major milestone for new pharmacy students, representing a commitment to patient care, a responsibility to the health care profession and the beginning of a new chapter. For more than 70 student pharmacists, that chapter officially began at UC San Diego Skaggs School of Pharmacy and Pharmaceutical Sciences’ 2026 White Coat Ceremony, marking their entry into the profession of pharmacy.

“While each member of our Class of 2030 has taken their own unique path to this moment, they share a deep passion for making a difference in the lives of others,” says Brookie Best, PharmD, MAS, dean of Skaggs School of Pharmacy. “I look forward to seeing each of them explore their interests, learn from our faculty, preceptors and each other and discover the many ways they can shape the future of health care as pharmacy leaders.”
