Additionally, Hackensack University Medical Center has the #1 and only nationally ranked cancer program in New Jersey, earning the #6 ranking in the New York-New Jersey metropolitan area and #38 nationally in the U.S. News & World Report’s 2026-2027 Best Hospitals list.

The annual U.S. News & World Report Best Hospitals rankings are designed to help patients and their physicians make informed decisions about where to receive care for complex health conditions and specialized procedures. These rankings are based on objective, independently reported data, including quality measures from the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS), rather than information influenced by hospitals themselves.
