Naglaa Shoukry and Petronela Ancuta, researchers in the Immunopathology axis at the CHUM Research Center (CRCHUM), a Santé Québec establishment, shed new light on one of the greatest challenges in HIV research: understanding why the virus remains present in the body despite the treatments administered.

Leurs travaux, dont les résultats ont été publiés dansThe Lancet eBioMedicine, reveal that hepatitis C could contribute to the formation of reservoirs where HIV manages to hide for long periods of time, making it impossible to completely eliminate it.
