New report highlights Ohio State’s over $19 billion annual impact in Ohio

The Ohio State University is a global leader in student success, research and innovation, patient care and athletic excellence. Now a new study has placed a value on the university’s regional and statewide economic impact. Including operational and capital expenditures as well as student and visitor spending, Ohio State is estimated to have supported $19.6 billion of industry output in Ohio, 116,819 jobs in Ohio, $7.5 billion of labor income, and $663.1 million of tax revenue to state and local governments.

Recovery Month celebrates students in and seeking recovery from substance misuse

The Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration declared the first National Recovery Month in 1989. Following the federal government’s lead, the Collegiate Recovery Community (CRC) at The Ohio State University has hosted a university-wide celebration for the last eight Septembers. The timing is fortunate, said Ahmed Hosni, assistant director of the Student Wellness Center and leader of the CRC.
