Ohio State receives $5 million gift to establish the Collaborative on the Science of Polarization and Misinformation

The College of Arts and Sciences at The Ohio State University has received a $5 million gift from Gifford Weary and the Weary Family Foundation. This gift will launch the Collaborative on the Science of Polarization and Misinformation (C-SPAM), an interdisciplinary project dedicated to understanding the core psychological factors that contribute to the polarization of beliefs and attitudes.

Mayo Clinic study puts price tag on cost of menopause symptoms for women in the workplace

Menopause-related symptoms such as hot flashes, night sweats, mood changes, sleep disturbances, joint aches and cognitive difficulties damage the quality of life for millions of women. They also can adversely affect women in the workplace. A newly published Mayo Clinic study puts numbers on that cost: an estimated $1.8 billion in lost work time and $26.6 billion when medical expenses are added, in the U.S. alone.
