The Vrije Universiteit Brussel has opened the first call for InterACT, an international program for postdoctoral researchers. This call gives researchers the opportunity to conduct research at the VUB for three years and at the same time work on the social impact of their research.

InterACT wants to strengthen the bridge between science and policy. Researchers often provide knowledge that can help with social challenges and political decision-making, but are not always given the opportunity to apply that knowledge outside their own field. The VUB wants to change that with InterACT. The program supports researchers who want to translate their scientific expertise into useful insights for society and policymakers.
An important asset of InterACT is collaboration across borders. The selected researchers not only collaborate with colleagues from other disciplines, but also with partners outside academia. This gives them the opportunity to develop new perspectives and make their research better suited to social needs.
Researchers from all scientific disciplines can apply. The selected postdocs receive a three-year fellowship. A total of fourteen international researchers will work at the VUB via InterACT, spread over two calls within a five-year program.
The program is coordinated by the European Research and Innovation Support (ERIS) team of the Vice Rectorate of Innovation and Industrial Relations. InterACT is co-funded by the European Union through Horizon Europe and the Marie Skłodowska-Curie Actions.
