Construction of the two new wings that will complete the Université de Montréal Science Complex will begin this summer.
Focused on synergy and interdisciplinarity, phase 2 will bring together the Department of Mathematics and Statistics, the Department of Computer Science and Operations Research as well as the Courtois Institute in a dynamic environment designed to increase interactions and innovation.
“This is a major project that will provide high-quality locations for research teams and the student community,” rejoices Isabelle Bonneau, assistant vice-rector for administration and infrastructure at UdeM.
This phase also includes the construction of a large data center whose recovered heat, valued in an energy-efficient approach, will supply the laboratories with high energy demand in phases 1 and 2. Continuing the environmental excellence approach of the initial phase, UdeM aims to obtain LEED Gold certification for this new complex, thus reaffirming its commitment to sustainable innovation and ecological transition.
