The Newark Police Department is investigating two separate, alleged sexual assaults potentially by rideshare drivers that occurred in the city of Newark.
Please observe these safety tips when using any rideshare agency:
- Always check the vehicle to make sure it’s the correct one,
- Ask the driver the name of the person they are picking up,
- Have them tell you their name and
- Make sure someone always knows where you are.
Other safety tips include: wait in a safe location, follow along with GPS, share your ride with others and never pay with cash.
