24 Buckeyes set for 2024 Summer Olympics

The Ohio State University Department of Athletics will have 24 current, former and incoming student-athletes competing at the 2024 Paris Olympics set to begin later this month. The Buckeyes represent 10 countries and nine sports at the XXXIII Olympiad.

For the second consecutive Summer Olympics, Ohio State will have more than 20 student-athletes competing. The contingent of 24 Buckeyes is the second largest at a single Olympic Games following the school record of 26 who competed in 2021 in Tokyo.

The Canadian Olympic Team has the most Ohio State representatives with eight, including current student-athletes Alex Axon and Tristan Jankovics of the men's swimming and diving program. Team USA is close behind, with seven Buckeyes.

Seven current Buckeyes will compete in Paris. Alex Axon and Tristan Jankovics will swim for Team Canada, while their Buckeye teammate Tomas Navikonis will be competing for Lithuania. Also representing Ohio State aquatic sports are Germany’s Lena Hentschel (diving) and Ruby Remati (artistic swimming) for the United States. Pistol student-athlete Ada Korkhin will also compete for Team USA, and Leah Bertrand is set to compete for Trinidad and Tobago in track & field.

This year’s games mark the second for Henry Leverett and Hunter Armstrong (swimming) and third for Aina Cid (rowing), Eleanor Harvey (fencing), Nichelle Prince (soccer), Elodie Ravera-Scarramozzino (rowing) and Kyle Snyder (wrestling).
