Gary L. Cloud, PE, of Michigan State University has been granted the singular honor of being named an Honorary Member of the Society for Experimental Mechanics (SEM).

Cloud is University Distinguished Professor in the Mechanics Group of the Department of Mechanical Engineering at MSU and founding past director of the MSU Composite Vehicle Research Center. He also has served as the long-time adviser to MSU’s Formula Racing Team.

The Society’s definition of an Honorary Member is: “… an individual of widely recognized eminence in some field in which the Society has interest, and who has also rendered exceptional and sustained service to the Society.”

Cloud will be recognized at the All Society Luncheon at the SEM 2021 Annual Conference and Exposition on Experimental Mechanics, on June 9, 2021, in Albuquerque, New Mexico.
